Disclaimer: Let me say at the onset We haveothing against men But as you will read this post you will realise this incident had to be told The guy had asked for it :DThanks Blogadda for picking this post as one of the Tangy Tuesday Pick for this week :-)It was aormal afternoon when We & a colleague were walking towards the food court and we saw her. There was a kiosk of American Express credit cards outside the food court and it was manned by a pretty girl. our colleague said; "trust me there will be a huge queue for these cards today. All guys would be here only."We laughed out loud at her words and moved on for lunch. We had some errand to run after lunch so We left a little earlier then our lunch partners. When We came out inadvertently We turned to see the crowd at the kiosk. To our utter disappointment amazement there was just one guy sitting there. We smiled to myself and turned our gaze on the other side. What We saw was a pair of guys moving in the same direction as mine but the interesting fact was that one of the guys was staring towards this AmEx girl. We somehow found it amusing and started staring this guy. The way he was staring at the girl We knew something exciting is about to happen And oh dear was We so right ever :DHe was walking straight with hiseck was at 90 degree angle. He kept walking and then boomFoolish poor fellow was so so so busy staring that he didn’t see a pillar in front him and went bang into it We couldn’t control our laughter and laughed out there & then. To his utter embarrassment his partner said “Arrey yaar dekh ke chala” i.e. “see where you are walking”.We had a smile on our face for the rest of the day. We mean we see such things in movies or read about them in stories but to see it happening right in front of me was too damn amusing The pillar with which he had collided was made of fiber and had a message on it which said “mind your head”. Whenever We used to see that pillar We used to feel how can anyoneot see that pillar,ow We have our answer :D. See for yourself, can you miss this pillar And yes guys you can pass this question :DAsk guys to do something simple and they wouldever be focusedeedless to say all their concentration is saved for occasions like this. Just 3-4 days back hubby was at home, We was getting ready for office and before going for our bath We asked him to switch off the gas after 5 mins. Some 15 mins later when We came out We could smell that something was burning. It goes without saying that he had forgotten to turn off the gas and our breakfast was half burned You know why He was busy watching T.V. what amazed me was that he was 10 steps away from kitchen and still the smell couldnt remind him Aren’t guys amazing All their attention & concentration is for things which aren’t really relevant. Now take this friend of mine. Sometimes when am talking to him We stop over to talk to our colleagues (read female). We ask him to hold the call while We exchange pleasantries. As soon as We resume talking to him…Me: YesHim: Is she cuteMe: (with an exasperated sigh)o she isn’t cute, she is beautiful-married-has a daughter in her teens InterestedHim: Is the daughter cuteEarlier We used to say “Oh God” in cases like this butow We have stopped doing that because We have realised even God is male and every time We say “Oh God” in such situations he surely says “What” as ifothing is wrong And life goes on

Remember that on Monday Ill have an interview with Jennifer Estep and a contest for a few copies of her soon-to-be-released Spiders Bite, the first in her The Elemental Assassins seriesTez at Tez Says has put together a list ofew book releases with descriptions and covers, but she lives in Australia, so herew releases and covers are different than mine here in California. If you like to see foreign covers, youll definitely be interested in many of these. We think the UK version of Laurell K. Hamiltons Flirt is way more interesting than the US version. (See above.)And We love both the US and the UK versions of Gemma Malleys The Returners, but our preference is for the eerie, stark US version at the left.We just looked for Gemma Malleys website, but like a lot of British authors, she doesnt have one. Interesting. One of the first things US agents and editors want to know is if authors have a website. Mine is at this VERY MOMENT being updated, and We tell them, "Uhm, Ive got this blog called Vampire Wire," and then they say, "Oh, its gotten so late. Well catch up later" Somehow the charm of this blog eludes them.We like this rant by Magolla about her pet peeve about paranormal/urban fantasy books: "IT DOESNT MAKE IT A PARANORMAL STORY IF YOU CAN REMOVE THE PARANORMAL ASPECT FROM THE STORY AND THE STORY STILL HOLDS TOGETHER." Oh, as if you could really take the zombies out of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies and have any kind of story that anyone would care about We dont know about you, but when We think "Regency-era classic about romantic entanglements, social class, and manners," We think of zombies. Oh, wait, We dont. Because Imot a dude who only read Jane Austen under pressure. We laughed, we cried, we braided one anothers hair with daisies and ribbons, but alas, it is time to end our week-long study of how a Britney Spears song amplifies the awesomeness of a paranormal/vampire video by some geometric quantity. (Vampire Wire Research Laboratories in Zurich are still working out the algorithm.)Who would have guessed that "Twilight" would work so well to "Before the Goodbye" ice effects by SilverVintage82.And Selene and Sonja from "Underworld" can kick-ass to a Britney megamix. The men of "Angel" are clearly "Toxic."Rose Tylers life is like a "Circus" with "Doctor Who."With someone as hawt as Sam Winchester, the Britney wants to "Break the Ice." (We apologize for being so corney. Its something about the music.)Britney wants Dean Winchester to "Breathe On Me.""Buffy" to Britneys "A Piece of Me." Have a Britneylicious weekend and if youeed something to occupy your time until Monday, buy our books and read them.
DVD Review by Kam Williams Headline: DVD Revisits LeBron&s Formative Years Most people only know LeBron James the basketball phenom who went straight from high school to theBA and became the youngest MVP in the history of the league. However, few are aware of how challenging a childhood he had to overcome en route to the pros, being raised by a young single-mom. In fact, Lebron moved about a dozen times between the ages of 5 and 8, living in some of the worst projects around Akron, Ohio. Fortunately, his financially-struggling mother, Gloria, had the good sense to let her son stay with his coach&s family until she was able to provide him with a stable home situation. LeBron ended up forming what would prove to be lifelong bonds during his formative years, first while playing in an AAU league and later while attending St. Vincent-St. Mary High School. For over that period, he had the same teammates: Dru Joyce III, Romeo Travis, Willie McGee and Sian Cotton. Consequently, as LeBron reminisces, It was basketball, but it was more like friendship than anything.” Furthermore, they were coached by Dru&s father, a practical role model who impressed upon them from the outset that basketball was more than a game.” LeBron and company took that message to heart, cultivatingot only character, individually, but a chemistry and cohesiveness, collectively, which would stand the test of time. That tight-knit squad enjoyed unparalleled success on the court, including theational championship title. Yet, this moving documentary focuses as much on their achievements away from the sport to drive home more important points about the value of loyalty, persistence and integrity in overcoming any adversity. And although LeBron was obviously the star of the team, the picture devotes equal time to all the members, each of whom had his own cross to bear. Along the way, we learn that Willie was raised by his big brother, because both of his parents were drug addicts; that diminutive Dru had a short kid&s complex; that Romeo had anger management issues; and that Gentle Giant Sian struggled to outgrow his clumsiness. At heart, an inspirational bio-pic about the transcendent magic of friendship forged in pursuit of hoop dreams. Excellent (4 stars) Rated PG for mild epithets and smoking. Running time: 100 minutes Studio: Lions Gate Home Entertainment DVD Extras: Featurettes entitled More Than a Film, Behind the Music” and Winning Ways: A Look inside Sports Psychology.”
